Prostatic Artery Embolisation for BPH
In the last year or so there has been an increased interest in the use of embolisation (cutting off the blood supply) of the prostate as a minimally invasive form of treatment for prostate enlargement.
This treatment is unproven and currently cannot be recommended as a safe and effective treatment for BPH.
Current clinical experience is limited and this treatment should only be considered in the context of a controlled clinical trial.
